Running the internet’s best blog (sorry noise narcs) is a grueling, sometimes daunting task. In addition, the blogosphere is oftentimes a harsh and petulant mistress. To keep one’s sanity, it becomes necessary to occasionally reflect on our various milestones, so as to separate the forest from the trees (this is not literally possible. There can be no forest without trees. Look it up.) Today, we mark the arrival of apatheticallydecomposing’s first spam comment, which was helpfully blocked by the akismet widget.
Receiving a spam comment is every bloggers dream, because it means that some computer somewhere (or a desperately poor person in a desperately poor country) has decided that your blog carries the cache and readership to make sending out unsolicited penis enlargement links a statistically winning proposition. For example, if you hosted a blog with 100 total page views, it would be rather unlikely that any of those viewers would have any need for penis enlargement pills or contraptions. But once you move into the realm of a blog which has received well over 700 total page views (!!!!!) the chances that one of those viewers needs some penile get-up-and-go (I’m looking at you noise narcs) increases 7 times (basic math. Look it up).
Sadly for said spammer, the blocking algorithm decisively blocked the turgid comment, but because I’m a generous person, I have posted it below the break for your edification and amusement (and medical benefit. I’m looking at you noise narcs). Note: the links have been broken to discourage future spammers. I may be generous, but I rule this blog with an iron fist!
